new year eve

yesterday...31st dec 2007

it has been quite a tradition that our church has a gathering on the last day of the year to have the 'last meal of the year' together.

after all the food that we had together, li ting called out for the youth group members (whoever that was there) to play sparklers together. she happened to buy some the last sunday and brought them along.

in the end, those that were around had a great time, playing sparklers in the middle of the road that they kinda forgotten that there would be cars till somebody honked them. =)

it was a very very pleasant time to have together. yay!

li ting says: we should have more of such times together. haha

Youth Camp 2007 Day 1

It all begins on Costa Sand Pasir Ris. The camp site for Youth Camp 2007. Timing to gather 2pm at Bedok MRT. After buying the stuff, we checked in to our chalet room. Started off, with Zhiyong Laoshi giving the 1st Bible study for the camp.

1600Hrs, Jacky & Jill reached the camp site. After a couple of songs we started our games to have some fun. Simple matching game. Trading your cards to make 4 of a kind. Do a lame action. Last person to do shall be forfeited. The 1st to get forfeited is Joy Kwan. She must stuff 10 cheeseballs in her mouth and then eat them all.....2nd forfeit, jacky "broken arm eating mamee.."

We all took the shuttle bus to Tanah Merah Mrt station, took train to Paya Lebar Mrt. Our next destination. " Settler's Cafe". Ordered set meals and had some nice board games. Here come Jacky and Jill after they had thier dinner with parents. They came back to meet us at Settler's Cafe. Had a game of Taboo.... And the super champion Zihui, crown "Taboo Queen"......

After that we went back to chalet, sung some songs welcome jacky's friends for coming and lights off.....

Oh wait!!!! Joke picture of the day.
Who does this guy look like?

Youth Group Jamming at Bedok

17/06/07 Sunday Sunny

Its was a day when most of the youth group can't make it for the Youth Jamming session. Thanks Lord that eventually, a few still turned up for this miniture gathering. Although the studio was old, crappy and retro. We manage to enjoyed ourselves.

Jacky had introduce some of the friends from his Band to help us out in the jamming session. lovina was the drummer for the day, Candy the rythem guitarist and Joel the main guitarist as normal. Bassist is jacky and keyboard is XiaoSi and Joy(turn by turn). Vocals goes to all the youth group and Main vocal is Grace leading the band to sing and play correctly. All those present really enjoyed the Jamming session. Its takes an effort to bond each and eveyone into playing a beautiful piece. Thanks God for united the strong youth together.

With Love

Taken 4 Granted?

At some point or another, we would have taken for granted the chance to gather.
We would have thought this is just something we do each and every week.
The same old people we see every Sunday, and the same old tunes, we make ourselves sing.
But isn't it strange how things we take for granted are always the most important ones?
How it's not until it's gone that we feel the sense of lost?
However, Brothers and Sisters, we thank God that our faith is not built on cement nor bricks and Our bond is not defined by anything outside.
We know that deep inside, that it is Him who brought us together.
Our salvation is our most important link.
We must hold on to Him and believe that no matter what,
His way is the best way, even when it's drear.
That what is going to hold us together, is not camp t-shirts nor an unforgettable outing.
It is praying with one heart, one mind, and one soul and remembering that we can do all things through Him that strengthens us.
May God help us. Amen.

December 14th: Checking out.....

14th Dec Sunny

It's the last day of our camp. Some were happy to leave FINALLY, some were sad that the camp had ended so quickly and some were simply too stoned to feel either happy or sad.

Joel was the first to wake up.. perhaps worried that we would be overcharged for checking out late. Furthermore we had a late night, initially playing Risk then somehow or rather we ended up chatting in the living room, eating the potatoes personally steam-cooked by Xiao Wang! =D It was great catching up with the rest and knowing more about the Juniors. :)

Anyway back to the 14th..haha ya Joel woke up and called Grace to wake up the girls room. We did a last minute packing and were out of the rooms! Zoom! Grace hand over the keys to the guy who looked so much like a chinese when in fact he was a malay... haha. he checked the room and fortunately DID NOT notice a missing lighter! (No we didn't take it...it just wasn't there when we checked in and SOMEBODY did not report it! ain't saying names!!) So we checked out and waited for Mr ZhiYong LaoShi... The weird thing was: Mu Shi arrived a little earlier than LaoShi but in the end EVERYONE except Xiao Wang and Anna followed Mu Shi to the Mrt Station..haha LAoshi came all the way just to send Anna coz Dear Xiao Wang was riding his bike...HAH :o

For those who followed MuShi our camp haven't end yet...he brought us to a supposedly "味道不同" Prawn Noodle to have our brunch. haha it was not bad lah. considering we had instant noodles for dinner the previous night. :) :)

So after that we finally parted our ways when MuShi sent us to the Mrt..and promised to see each other again soon on the coming Sunday at Church Service.

It was a successful and meaningful camp for all of us. (Those who agree: Shout: CANA! haha siao arhh =P)
